The main objective of good litter is to improve the hygiene, welfare and health of the birds, and to reduce health problems such as Salmonella spp, Clostridium sp and incidences of digestive processes.

Likewise, good bedding reduces problems related to ulcerations and plantar pododermatitis associated with high humidity.
